Bernadette Homerski was an educator for 30 yearsBernadette Homerski in both British Columbia and Ontario as a Classroom teacher, Special Needs Education Specialist, Principal, High School Chaplain and Consultant. She served as the Pastoral Assistant at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Waterdown for fifteen years and currently volunteers as Pastoral Assistant at St. Ann’s Parish in Hamilton.

She began her career at CHOICES as a member of the Board of Directors for two terms, lead the Accreditation process in 2010 and currently is the Director of Quality Assurance and Administration.

The move to Developmental Services was a transition, a ‘growing up’, with the children she had taught in her capacity as a Special Needs Educator. She worked alongside one of her former Special Needs Students on the Board of Directors for a few months. Her experience with adults includes volunteering at L’Arche, Mobile, Alabama and creating a welcoming faith community for all individuals in need of support.

Sarah is the Director of Service Delivery at CHOICES Association Inc.  Sarah Meharg She has been working in the field of Developmental Services for approximately 15 years in various roles. Prior to Developmental Services, her experience was in the children’s sector.

In the last few years Sarah has had the opportunity to learn and grow from some very skilled Leaders. The skills she has acquired are invaluable and helped her grow as a coach and leader for others. Most recently she had the opportunity to participate in the Queens Executive Education in the advanced Leadership Program, which left her feeling completely energized and ready to grow in her role as director of service delivery.

It is a very exciting time right now for CHOICES and service delivery. We are creating new opportunities for people we support within our community, changing the appearance of our group homes to represent homes with a personal touch, working with other organizations and the Ministry of Community and Social Services to create capacity and really problem solve some of the pressures within our community.
John Black, lives in Oakville with his wife and three (3) girls. John BlackHe is a CPA, CMA (Chartered Professional Accountant) with more than twenty-five (25) years experience in the field of accounting. As the Finance Manager he assists in the stewardship of CHOICES Association's finances and government reporting.
Katherine was a Supervisor at Brantwood Community Services before startingKatherine Dawson as a Program Manager at Choices in June 2016. Katherine is a Person Centred Thinking Trainer and is certified in sign language. Katherine is the Program Manager for Carlisle, Harvest and is transitioning to take over Silver.
Rob started working for CHOICES in 2001 as a relief support worker before acceptingRob Fairhall a full time position at Rockton within his first year. In 2013 he accepted the position of Operational Compliance Coordinator and shortly after, took over managing the Rockton location home, supporting persons with challenging behaviours. Over the past year he and his colleagues have been working on building capacity as a team specially in the RBT course with Safe Management Inc., Applied Behaviour Analysis. Education in Advanced Excel and Picture Exchange Communication Systems to be completed in late fall to early spring.
Brenda has been in the field of Developmental Services for over 10 years; working with CHOICES.  Brenda Airdrie Brenda has spent most of her career in an office environment. She enjoys the interaction with individuals supported. "Being part of an Agency that enhances the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities makes my work rewarding. Every day reveals new successes for clients and it is a pleasure to see people reach their goals and go beyond those levels."

Brenda has an HR certificate, Office Administration and Medical Administration certificate and is currently working on a CHRP designation
Christina spent 14 years of her career in Developmental Services providing direct support to individuals with developmental Christina Hall services at CHOICES and moved into a leadership role in 2014. Her current Assignment: Program Manager for Dennis , Meaghan and Duncan Residences and responsible for Social Events. For her, " promoting social inclusion and challenging negative stereotypes through the development of strategies to create socially inclusive communities" is what drives her ongoing journey to be a leader in the developmental sector.

Christina has a BA from McMaster University, Public Sector Leadership Institute University of Toronto Rotman School of Management and is currently enrolled in the Leadership Developing Series at Fleming College.
Michelle has been in the field of Developmental Services for over 10 years.  Christina Hall She is a graduate of McMaster University. Most of her career has been at YWCA Hamilton supporting adults in Developmental Services and women in Transitional Housing. Her role at CHOICES is Program Manager of Westfield and Mohawk Day Programs.

Michelle thoroughly enjoys working with adults and fostering a person centred approach.
Tara is a Brock University graduate who has been working in Human Resources Tara Peters with concentration on Health & Safety, Training and Benefits Administration for the past 15 years. During this time, she attending Sheridan and Fleming colleges to earn a HRM certificate and a payroll certificate, and had the chance to work in many sectors, including engineering and hospitality. It was her fond experiences from a University summer job at Mainstream in St. Catharines that eventually brought her back to NFP and the rewarding sector of Developmental Services.

Since her start at CHOICES in 2010, she has had the pleasure of joining the Quality Assurance Team, and has experienced a positive shift in safety culture. Tara is a certified First Aid instructor with St. John Ambulance and creates and leads much of the OHS training at CHOICES. Developing our current proactive and wellness focused approach could not be done without the buy-in and safety consciousness of the entire CHOICES team!
